Bob Mould Band w/ Cymbals Eat Guitars @ Old Rock House 8 p.m. | $22-$25 Two words: Hüsker Dü. This guy was in that band. If you don't know what that means, or that it is a big damn deal, nothing else I can say here will help you. (DH)
Brave New World w/ Edamame, Scrub, 18andCounting, Scripts 'N Screwz, Loren D, Laren Loveless, Mathias and the Pirates, Blank Generation, Subtle Aggression Monopoly, Abnormal, Centipede, MME, Black James, Kneegrowpleeeze, Ewokie Talkie @ Blank Space 8 p.m. | $5 Those unfamiliar with the FarFetched collective will find a fitting introduction at their annual festival, featuring several local artists from its roster alongside some out-of-town artists. Check out the FarFetched Bandcamp page for a primer of the label's talent, and look forward to a packed house party at Blank Space -- be sure to high-five Kaveh when you see him around. (MS)
MusicEmbryo Record Release w/ Nick Flora, the Old Souls Revival @ Foam 8:30 p.m. | $8-$10 Local ethereal rock group MusicEmbryo digitally released its EP, Sunrise, last week. Preview two tracks via Bandcamp, and head to Foam this weekend to pick up a limited edition version on CD (they look pretty snazzy)! (MS)
Nothing Shocking @ The Ready Room 8 p.m. | $10-$12 A tribute to the music of Jane's Addiction, which is criminally too often forgotten by modern music fans, this show is sure to be a spectacle, with the guy behind El Monstero's huge stage shows working this one as well. (DH)
Otto's Revenge @ Vintage Vinyl 7 p.m. | free Hometown alternative-punk rockers Otto's Revenge plays its first show in nearly twenty years preceding the upcoming re-release of its album, Gods of Love and Torture and Light. And hey -- free beer! Snatch up a copy of their local compilation, the Guide to Fast Living if you get a chance, too. Make sure you look for that hilarious old RFT logo on the back. Shabazz Palaces w/ Nappy DJ Needles @ The Firebird 8 p.m. | $15-$17 From Digable Planets to today, Ishmael Butler has yet to phone it in or turn out anything short of high-quality music. Show some respect, whippersnapper. (DH)

Wild Fest w/ Resinater, the Maness Brothers, Tok, Cody James, WaxWorks, Scruffy & the Janitors @ El Lenador 7 p.m. | $5 Wild Fest, meant to commemorate Livery Company's move down the street, will take place instead at El Lenador since the new space isn't quite ready yet.
