Daniel Hill made it back from the Gathering of the Juggalos alive, you guys! Let's celebrate by seeing some shows while he slowly adjusts to a regular, civilized life (sort of) once again. Plenty of great local releases await this weekend including new tunes from Dock Ellis Band, Bruiser Queen and Black Fast. Read more about these and more recommendations after the jump.

Friday (August 16):

Afroman w/ Beach Bum Alcoholics, DJ Broz, VibeSteady @ The Demo 7 p.m. | $12-$15 Afroman's back! Stick around later on to catch an after-party with Sidewalk Chalk.(MS)

Dock Ellis Band Album Release w/ Diesel Island, John Krane @ Off Broadway 9 p.m. | $10-$13 Preview the new album Bad Songs and Waltzes and head to South Broadway to see the honky-tonk in action. (MS)

Homecoming: Back to the Bassics w/ Tim Ismag, DJ Dara, Locknar @ Old Rock House 8 p.m. | $12.50/$20 Tim Ismag travels all the way from Russia for a DJ set at 2720 Cherokee. In Soviet Russia, bass drops you! (DH)

Kurt Vile and the Violators w/ Sonny & the Sunsets @ The Firebird 8 p.m. | $16-$20 Vile, formerly of The War On Drugs, comes back through with his Violators. (DH)

The Bump & Hustle No. 14 w/ Agile-1, MAKossa, Nappy DJ Needles, Hal Greens @ Blank Space 10 p.m. | $5 The Bump & Hustle is at it again, this time with special guest Agile-1. Check out footage shot at last month's one-year anniversary above to see what the B&H is all about. (MS)

Radiant Husk w/ Byssus, Marble @ Foam 9 p.m. | $3 Catch west coast transplants Gwyneth Merner aka Byssus and Matt Erickson aka Radiant Husk one more time before they move away from this place. The latter employs processed saxophone and tapes while the former manipulates theremin and electronics, both with warm and intimate approaches. (MS)

Sunday (August 18):

Havok w/ Compelled to Destroy, Hallow Point, Encrypted, Xaemora @ Fubar 8 p.m. | $10-$12 Denver new-thrash outfit Havok has proven itself to have some staying power, still kicking even as the so-called new wave of thrash metal has finally wound down. Have a listen to the band and you'll see why: Tight musicianship and blistering guitar work render Havok a diamond in the genre's rough. (DH)

Dwight Yoakam w/ Sturgill Simpson @ The Pageant 8 p.m. | $35-$37.50 Country music pioneer Dwight Yoakem has sold over 25 million records in his three-decade career. (DH)

A Tribute to Riley "Coatie" Morgan w/ Soulard Blues Band, Skeet Rodgers & the Inner City Blues Band, Morgan Family Band @ BB's Jazz Blues, and Soups 3 p.m. | $10 Come help pay tribute to Riley "Coatie" Morgan alongside several of St. Louis' finest. Hosted by Tom "Papa" Ray! (DH)
