New wave legend the Psychedelic Furs is returning to St. Louis on October 12. The Lemonheads (!) will open, and tickets are $27.50 in advance. The show's at the Pageant, a little over a year after the Furs' last stop at the same venue.
This is an especially fantastic bill -- both bands are coming off somewhat nostalgia-baiting tours wherein they played classic albums in their entirety. But both offer vital catalogues, and seeing them playing a more flexible set will be a treat. The Lemonheads have Juliana Hatfield on this tour -- the songwriter is a longtime friend of front man Evan Dando and an exceptional talent in her own right. She also was an official member of the band circa the release of It's A Shame About Ray.
To win: The movie Pretty in Pink was inspired by the Psychedelic Furs song of the same name. To win tickets to the show, tell us what song you'd like to see turned into a movie and way. You can enter here or on Facebook or Twitter (links below).
