Odd Future has just announced a show on September 14 at the Pageant. The members of the rambunctious skate-rap collective that will be in the house are Tyler the Creator, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Domo Genesis, Mike G, Earl Sweatshirt and Taco. Tickets are $25 in advance or $27.50 day of show -- the advance tickets go on sale this Friday at 5 p.m.
Prodigal son Earl Sweatshirt will be performing at the show. His first performance with the group since returning from a troubled-youth work camp on a Samoan Island was in March of this year at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.
Odd Future (or OFWGKTA) has seen a meteoric rise over the last few years, evolving from a loose collective of high school skate kids to a full-force cult hip-hop phenomenon, complete with nods from nearly every hip-hop magazine and indie music blog and even their own television show, the Dickhouse-produced Loiter Squad, on Adult Swim. This will be the group's second tour; the first took place in late 2011 and did not include a St. Louis date.
See page two for the full schedule and a video.
Watch this amusing video of the song "Oldie", wherein the members of the group start impromptu singing along to one of their songs at a photo shoot. "Why not release it?" says the description.
