Update: The three finalists who will be playing the big stage at Fair St. Louis are Pretty Little Empire (performing on the 4th with Heart), John Gurney (July 6 with Third Eye Blind) and Zack Weber (July 7 with Dierks Bently). The public vote winners were Doorway then Tef Poe, but apparently that's not the way the judging panel went. Congratulations to everyone.
Fair St. Louis introduced a music video contest last year -- the winner got its video on the big screen and some stage time on the 4th of July down at the Arch during the massive free festival. That winner was oft-collaborating MCs WhiteOut and RT-FaQ with their excellent clip for "I Don't Know."
This year's finalists have been announced, and the duo is back as part of the Doorway collective with their video for "When the Stars Come Out." We talked to WhiteOut when it was released in May. This year, Fair St. Louis has introduced a public vote as part of its decision-making process (the rest is a judging panel including me). And the Doorway video is currently in the lead with 101 votes. But there are five other finalists, including Tef Poe, Zack Weber, John Gurney, the John Maxfield Band and Pretty Little Empire. Vote here. Below, watch a video WhiteOut and RT-FaQ made of their performance last year.
