The Arch (106.5 FM) played its entire library of 1,400 hits in alphabetical order by song title last week. It was called A to Z week and the station alleged to have the largest library of any station in St. Louis. Since 1,400 songs takes you roughly from A to halfway through C in our personal collection, we asked for clarification: This constitutes only songs that have made it into regular rotation on the station since its inception in 2005.
This means the 1,400 songs the station played last week amount to a populist canon -- the week's worth of songs the current group mind would take with it to a very generous desert island. So what is the consensus on the last half-century of music (or, at least, The Arch's best guess)? Find out for yourself: The Arch gave us its complete list. We rearranged it in chronological order for easier browsing.
