On the weekend of September 10, the University Mall in Carbondale, Illinois, will play host to the 4th Annual SIRIS Classic Vinyl & Media Sale. The Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS) and the WSIU Public Radio hope to raise money for a service operated by WSIU that helps the visually impaired.
"We have a great selection of vintage albums including blues, jazz, rock, and lots of stereo equipment at great prices," Vickie Devenport, SIRIS Director and coordinator of the sale, said. "Albums are priced to sell, starting at a $1."
CDs will be priced at $2 while DVDs will be $3. Collectibles will be priced accordingly. For anyone looking to build their media collection beyond vintage vinyl, the sale will also offer cassettes, DVDs, CDs, audio books, VHS tapes and electronic games. And the aspiring DJ can swing by for stereo equipment such as turn tables, speakers and tuners.
University Mall is located at 1237 East Main in Carbondale. (The sale will be next to the Hot Topic.) Doors will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and the sale continues Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
