LouFest is just over two weeks, and our excitement is reaching unhealthy levels. You already know the headliners: The Roots, TV On The Radio, The Hold Steady, Deerhunter, !!!, Cat Power, etc. The local lineup is impressive as well: Jon Hardy & the Public, Old Lights and Troubadour Dali lead the way.
The just-announced Before LouFest Party gives you an opportunity to see those local bands in their natural habitat: A rock bar. In this case, Off Broadway, for a free show presented by PBR and the festival itself. As you may have deduced from the name, the show is on Friday, August 26th and starts at 8 p.m.
In case you need a very brief primer on these bands, John Hardy & the Public, relatively quiet of late, recently released a video for "Hard Year."
Old Lights has been laying a bit low since the release of its incredibly awesome 10" Like Strangers. Listen below.
And finally, Troubadour Dali is less than one week removed from the release of full length Let's Make It Right.
