Mat Kearney, among the largest in a burgeoning crop of TV soundtrack superstars, will be making an appearance at the Pageant on October 5th. Tickets are $17 and go on sale this Friday, July 22nd at 5 p.m.
Kearney is touring in support of his 2011 release, Young Love, which will arrive on shelves August 2nd. That TV soundtrack thing: You might have heard his music on any number of dramas, including Army Wives, Jericho, Dirty Sexy Money, Grey's Anatomy (which must have fifty songs per episode based on how many artists it has featured) and plenty more.
Kearney comes from a developing tradition of the only sort of rock band that ever winds up in the Billboard Hot 100 anymore -- acoustic guitars, sad eyes, fraught with emotion. As these things go, we'd say Kearney has plenty to recommend him. He lives and works in Nashville these days, after growing up in Eugene, Oregon.
