Off Broadway's just announced a hell of a chamber pop bill: Dark Dark Dark with A Hawk and A Hacksaw (say those two band names five times fast...). It's on September 18th at 7:30 p.m. Pillars and Tongues opens. Tickets are $10 and on sale now.
Both headliners are known for their European folk influnces -- Dark Dark Dark incorporates a huge number of other sounds as well. A Hawk and A Hacksaw's first album served as the soundtrack to the documentary Zizek!, about philosopher Slavoj Žižek. And the band's music is perfect for that sort of thing.
A Hawk and a Hacksaw is touring in support of its recently released Cervantine. Dark Dark Dark hasn't released anything this year, but 2010 saw the band release its second LP and third EP.
