You eyes do not deceive you: The Old Rock House just sent out a press release in which it outlined a new policy for members of local bands. As long as they plan ahead a week in advance, they'll be able to go to any show at the venue for free. Is there a limit to how many times a musician can redeem this policy? "Not at the moment," the venue says. The full press release is below..
Two things that we here at the Old Rock House believe to be true:
1) Members of local bands are the lifeblood of the St. Louis music community.
2) Members of local bands tend to be - if not completely broke - at least pretty badly bent.
We would like to do our part to encourage the former while helping to deal with the latter. Beginning April 1, members of local St. Louis bands will be invited to attend any concert at the Old Rock House as our guest. The process is pretty simple. If there is a show you would like to come to, simply send an email to email@example.com a minimum of seven days prior to the concert. Include a link to your band's website, Facebook, or Myspace page and we will put you on the guest list for that show.
What do we hope to get in return? Not much, really. We hope that when you speak of us, you will speak well. We hope you would consider mentioning the concert you will be attending on your personal and/or band Facebook page. But mostly, we just hope this makes it a little easier for all of you to continue to grow the vibrant music scene that St. Louis is currently enjoying.
