On Friday, Radiohead released its new album, The King of Limbs. Along with the eight-song set, the band unveiled a video for the song "Lotus Flower." The stark black-and-white clip focuses on singer Thom Yorke and his wiggly, lithe, devil-possessed dance moves. Naturally, the Internet responded to the clip with a meme: Dancing Thom Yorke. The premise? Set Yorke's smooth moves to unexpected songs. A Tumblr sprang up as a result, and it's collecting the fan-made interpretations/mash-ups. Here are seven of the most clever interpretations.
The one that made the Internet rounds over the weekend the most: Thom dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies":
The most inspired one, in my view: Yorke's dancing on the ceiling, Lionel Richie-style! Ginuwine's "Pony." He's just a dancer, looking for a partner. Just hilarious.
Some nice video editing on this one: KC & the Sunshine Band's "Shake Your Booty."
You've just been Thom Roll'd. Ace of Base's "The Sign":
And finally, Michael Sembello's Flashdance song "Maniac"
