Pancake Productions is a one-stop creative shop for local music, film, art and general creativity. The "label" arm of PP has been rather busy in recent months, though: It's responsible for the release of Popular Mechanics' Time And A Half, the Shitty Friends' I'm Sorry It Might Not Have Happened This Way and a compilation of Fantasy Four music called Getting Fantastic With...The Fantasy Four. Label/website/project mastermind RØb Severson has also released a label sampler/compilation of local music, Summer Sampler MMX, which is available for free download here. The release of Summer's sequel, Wintry Sampler MMXI, is going to be celebrated tonight at El Lenador's Stag Nite.
Says Severson: "I'll be playing host to the event, TV-special-style with a fireplace and cushy chair and pipe and sweater (and Janet-Jackson headset mic), may do some songs or share some stories or whatever."
Expect performances from Black For a Second, King Kong Magnetics and the Roundheels. All bands appear on Wintry Sampler MMX, as do groups such as Cardiac Arrest, M.S.I.F., Blood Pony, the Breaks and more. (A full tracklisting is after the jump.)
