This event has been a little under the radar this year, but it is happening: Tony La Russa's annual Animal Rescue Foundation's (ARF) Stars to the Rescue benefit is at the Fabulous Fox on Saturday, January 15. This year's entertainment includes Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters, country singers Easton Corbin and David Nail, actor/comedian Kevin Pollak and the city's own Kim Massie. (Phantom of the Opera's Tim Martin Gleason is also performing.) The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $40 and $60.

Speaking of benefits, by the way:

Bob Costas' annual benefit for pediatric cancer patients, which takes place at the Fox on April 2, drew two big headliners: Faith Hill and Conan O'Brien. Those tickets are on sale now as well, and are priced between $35 to $125.
