Mark your calendars for August 27 and 28, 2011: LouFest will be returning to Forest Park in St. Louis. In a statement released this morning, organizer Brian Cohen says:
"We are excited to have year two now under way. In our first year I think we exceeded expectations. We're hoping to do the same with our sophomore effort. We're bringing in bigger national headliners and booking artists from a wider range of genres. We're also adding more restaurants, more retail, a bigger kids village, and throwing in a few other surprises we'll announce as the Festival gets closer."
One change already in place is LouFest's ticket-pricing structure. Starting today, a limited number of pre-sale tickets are available at LouFest.com, priced at just $49 for a two-day pass. Early-bird tickets will be available at a date TBA in the future, priced at $59 for a two-day pass. The regular price of a two-day pass will remain at $64.
Back in September, Cohen estimated that LouFest's inaugural year drew 8 to 9,000 people to Forest Park, on the strength of national acts such as Built to Spill, Broken Social Scene, Jeff Tweedy, Alejandro Escovedo and She & Him.
