Last night at Lola, DJ Abilities was scheduled to perform along with Pigeon John as part of the Dragon Slayer tour. Abilities ended up canceling at the last minute, however, due to some very sad news: His long-time musical collaborator Eyedea (a.k.a. Michael Larsen), passed away suddenly yesterday. He was 28.

His mother, Kathy Averill, broke the news via Facebook. She's since set up a memorial fundraiser page, which can be found here.

E&A performed at the Firebird in February 2010. Photographer Bryan Sutter's photos can be viewed here. Below, here's performance footage found via Gimme Noise, our sister blog in Eyedea's hometown of Minneapolis.
