(H/T to eagle-eyed commenter Chris for the tip.) Mark the date: Monday, October 11, Menomena is booked at the Luminary Center for the Arts. Tickets are now available right here. The highly creative Portland band hasn't been to St. Louis since a Halloween show at the Billiken Club several years ago. Menomena's music is hard to categorize; it's bustling with percussion, keyboards and strings, but its core revolves around pensive psych-pop and indie-Kraut. A new record, Mines, is due July 27, although if you can't wait that long, Brent Knopf's side project, Ramona Falls, released the beautiful Intuit last year.
