LA-based singer-songwriter Cary Brothers is co-billed as a headliner at the Old Rock House with Greg Laswell on Friday, July 30. Harper Blynn, who's in town opening for Charlie Mars at Off Broadway on June 9, is also on the bill. Tickets are $12, and are on sale Wednesday, June 2. Brothers is completely underrated, if not under-the-radar: He self-released a new album, Under Control, a few months ago. And nobody noticed -- which is a shame, since his synthesis of Smiths-like guitar-pop, piano sparkle and more standard singer-songwriter fare will please both Anglophiles and folk fans. Here's first single, "Ghost Town." Listen and fall in love.
