As you're reading this blogpost, I'm downtown at a press conference, talking about the RFT Music Showcase's move to Washington Avenue for 2010. The showcase is taking place on Saturday, June 5, in a variety of venues downtown; those confirmed so far for the nighttime portion of the event include Flamingo Bowl, Lola, Lucas Park Grille, the Dubliner, Lure, Shiver, Hair of the Dog, Nara Cafe & Hookah Lounge, the Over/Under Bar and Pacific Grill. During the day, expect two stages of music -- both of which will be all-ages -- food vendors and other activities. Other than that, it's business as usual: In the coming weeks, the ballot for the music awards will be coming together, and participants in the showcase will be chosen. The poster you see right there was drawn by Art Chantry, who's legendary in the rock & roll art world. More on the press conference later in the day. Stay tuned.
