Producer/Artist Bradd Young Steps Back into the Spotlight

In this week's paper, I profile Bradd Young, the talented producer-turned-artist who recently appeared on (and produced) a Billboard Top 30 hit for Yo Gotti, "Women Lie, Men Lie." (The song also features Lil Wayne.) Young will be performing at the Ambassador (9800 New Halls Ferry Road) at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 27. Expect to hear songs such as "Grown Man," a sultry, snapping slow jam with torchy rock guitar, and "Girlz," a Ne-Yo-meets-St. Louis-hip-pop song which showcases Young's falsetto. In the article, he explains his decision to go back to performing, a craft he had put on the back burner when his production career took off.

"I was like, 'I want to live life with no regrets,'" he says. "I don't want to look back, when I'm 35 or 40 years old, like, 'Hey, I really should have done this when I was younger.' I was just like, 'I'm going to take out time for myself and become an artist.' As soon as I did, the first couple of songs I recorded, they were on the radio, on the Internet everywhere. It's been this crazy ride since then."

Here's Young in the studio making "Grown Man."
