So exciting! The Bangles -- who completely ruled at the Illinois State Fair last year opening for Heart -- are playing at the Pageant on Sunday, May 2. When I interviewed Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs last year, the latter said a new Bangles record was in progress. Still, the band plays pretty much everything you want it to: "Going Down to Liverpool," "Manic Monday," a cover of Big Star's "September Gurls" and "Hazy Shade of Winter," just to name a few.
Just as exciting: The Dead Weather -- the band featuring White Stripe/Raconteur Jack White and Alison Moss of the Kills -- is also playing at the Pageant, on Saturday, April 24. Tickets are on sale next Friday for this show. The band's debut, Horehound, came out last year. Awesome video for "Treat Me Like Your Mother" below.
