I don't know about you, but I'm a little overwhelmed by the lists flooding blogs and magazines at the moment, many of them counting down the Best [Whatever] of the '00s. When I think back to what I was listening to back then -- as a frazzled college student in Boston -- it's almost nothing like what I'm listening to now.
The thought of doing a local, St. Louis-centric "Best of the '00s" list also seemed rather daunting, especially because I didn't live here for half of the decade -- and many times the best stuff out there either a) isn't recorded or b) is released in such limited quantities, preserving it is difficult. So I figured I'd throw this question out there to everybody out there in blog-land: What are your favorite St. Louis music releases of the decade? Chime in in the comments. Email me with links or songs, too, if anything springs up that I have to hear. I'm curious what we come up with...
