I take back all snarky thoughts I have for Jimmy Fallon, at least this week: Saw-toothed '90s rockers Jawbox reunited and performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon just now, in honor of the reissue of their seminal album, For Your Own Special Sweetheart. How the J. Robbins-fronted band manages to sound melodic and dissonant, harsh and tender, and aggressive and sympathetic -- all at the same time -- is nothing short of genius. Here's video of the D.C. quartet lurching through "Savory." Bonus video of the band performing two other songs (including "68") can be found here and here.
