My pal Dave runs a website called FiveChapters.com, which every week publishes a five-part serial story from noted authors. This week, however, the site is breaking from the norm and publishing five short stories, one per day -- including a new piece by Joe Pernice. Go here to read Monday''s story, called "Butter Face." In August, Pernice also released his first work of fiction, It Feels So Good When I Stop (well, sorta first -- he also penned a 33 1/3 book on the Smiths' Meat is Murder) and an accompanying album of songs, including this cover of the Dream Syndicate's "Tell Me When It's Over."
