Metric, Doves to Release New Albums + Free MP3s

My pal Quick Draw McHarper in Kansas City blogged these before I had a chance to, so here goes: Britpop stalwarts Doves and Canadian electro-popsters Metric are releasing new albums in the coming months. The latter's new one, Fantasies (publicist issued a correction), comes out April 14, while the former's Kingdom of Rust arrives a week earlier. Metric's "Help, I'm Alive" sounds far less abrasive than most of the act's last LP, Live It Out, while Doves' "Jetstream" is no relation to New Order's song of the same name, but is a stylistic cousin: It's a pulsating, meandering electronic number that sounds like the soundtrack to an '80s episode of Nova
