Wash U's a cappella groups sure love their indie rock. I posted a great Rilo Kiley video last year from Mosaic Whispers, and now one Matt Kitces writes in to say that the Stereotypes -- the all-male a cappella group of which he is a part -- have covered Of Montreal's "Wraith Pinned to the Mist (and other Games)." The video has drawn a thumbs up from both the band and its label, Polyvinyl. The Stereotypes have also entered Ben Folds' a cappella contest, a call for bands to send in versions of Folds songs for an upcoming CD.
Of Montreal a cappella. Had more groups done stuff like this when I was in college, I probably would have gone to more gigs.
