The Trade -- the cozy rock & roll bar situated under the Complex (3515 Chouteau Avenue) -- is closed, effective immediately. Just received an email and also saw this MySpace bulletin:
DO [sic] TO THE UPSTAIRS ASSHOLES AT THE COMPLEX,THEY HAVE KICKED US OUT AND WILL NOT GIVE US OUR MONEY!PLEASE DO NOT EVER GO THERE. WE WILL BE MOVING OUR STUFF OUT AT 1PM TOMORROW AND PAINTING THE WHOLE PLACE WHITE IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO HELP, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THIS MYSPACE,HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE A NEW BUILDING TO OURSELVES SOON. IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY BARS AVAILABLE PLEASE INFORM US. THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT MADE THE TRADE SO FUCKING BADASS!
So, um, apparently something happened between last night's Nick Oliveri show (which was a Camel-sponsored event) and today, because the bar was open as of last night.
