Leave it to Big Muddy Records to unleash big things. First, the scrappy label is launching a series of Blues Revues, starting this Friday, October 10, at Atomic Cowboy. This particular show is functioning as a release show for the Rum Drum Ramblers, which is releasing its debut EP, Speakin' that Hobo Language, in conjunction with Big Muddy. (The label is helping the trio out with support, but says that it should be considered an independent release.) Check out an MP3 below.
Last (but not least), there's also some intriguing news about a cooking sauce allegedly affiliated with the label. Think cooking sauce isn't mysterious? Think again.
A missive from the label said that Friday's gig will feature "the blast-off of our new All-Purpose cooking and food sauce." Further inquiries about this condiment elicited cryptic responses about "Persian businessmen" and "Bulgarian attorneys who preside in Manhattan" with "very nice living rooms." I can report that the sauce "ropes you in with a sweet tang and steals your heart with a spicy kick. Truly a journey into deep flavor" and that it will be available on Friday with special Rum Drum Ramblers labels. Once I obtain a bottle, I'll report back on its deliciousness. Here's the logo, incidentally.
