This is unconfirmed by the venue as of yet, but Smashing Pumpkins' publicist just sent out an email with a new tour itinerary that includes a St. Louis date on Wednesday, November 26. This is the Pumpkins' 20th Anniversary tour. (Feel old yet? I know I do.)
[Update, 1 p.m. 9/24: Yup, the Fox just confirmed this. Tickets are $43, $48 and $53 and go on sale Friday, October 3, at 10 a.m.]
Now, the band is doing multiple-night stops in several other cities, and the premise is that "the Pumpkins are coming prepared with completely different set lists in each of the multi-night engagements with no songs being repeated over the course of the two night run. Night #1 is being called 'Black Sunshine,' while night #2 will be dubbed 'White Crosses.'" (Does that mean the one-night stand will be "Black Sunshine"/"White Crosses," J. Timberlake-style?)
With a new single ("G.L.O.W.," which it's releasing through Guitar Hero® World Tour) and a two-DVD set (If All Goes Wrong, which was filmed at their residencies last year in San Francisco and Asheville, North Carolina), Billy Corgan and co. (including drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, the lone other member of the golden-age lineup) are busier than ever.
Relive the glory days after the jump, with a bunch of my favorite tunes and the rest of the tour dates.
