So exciting! Yesterday I received word that there's going to be a two-disc Cure tribute released on October 28. Called Perfect As Cats: a tribute to The Cure, it functions as a benefit for the Invisible Children organization. Artists getting their goth on include the Dandy Warhols, Kaki King, Indian Jewelry, Voyager One, Mariee Sioux and more! Full tracklist after the jump, but for your listening pleasure, snag Bat for Lashes' cover of "A Forest." Her Fur and Gold CD was one of my favorites last year, so this song makes me mad stoked. See the Donnie Darko-esque video after the MP3 too.
Oh, and the Cure's new record is now supposedly coming out October 13, and a four-song remix EP called Hypnagogic States is out September 13. Listen to new song "The Perfect Boy" at its Web site link. They have a ton of new singles out, although not being played on the radio (check out Robert Smith's hilarious commentary HERE and HERE.)MP3: Bat for Lashes, "A Forest" (Cure cover)
