The fast-casual "Chipotle of poke" is opening a new location in the former Chipotle space
at 6316 Delmar in the Loop. Poke Doke (8 S. Euclid Avenue, 314-833-5900)
was St. Louis's first poke bowl restaurant, opening its doors in the Central West End in October 2017. Now it's already set to expand.
Andrew Shih, the restaurant's managing partner, says they are aiming for a late March opening.
Poke Doke is owned by four siblings: Andrew, Annie, Leon and Steve Shih. Although they are first-time restaurant owners, they grew up in a family of restauranteurs (their parents own Hot Wok in Chesterfield). The siblings tried poke bowls in Los Angeles and became eager to bring concept to the Midwest.

The bowls are completely customizable. Customers choose a size, a base, (such as rice, greens, or soba noodles) and choose from proteins (such as salmon ahi tuna, spicy tuna, shrimp or tofu), then add as many toppings and drizzles as they wish.
The menu also offers appetizers such as pork-filled pot stickers, miso soup, and crab rangoon, along with an assortment of bubble milk teas and soft serve ice cream.
Chipotle closed its Loop location in February 2017
after a ten-year run.
