This St. Louis Company Will Give Your Drunk Self a Free Ride Home on New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is almost upon us. This holiday typically includes, but is not limited to, lying to yourself that this is the year you're finally going to get fit, "Auld Lang Syne" coming back in style, fireworks, parties and drinking. But especially the drinking.

Luckily, St. Louis company Major Brands is teaming up with Lyft to get drunks like you home safely. The company, which stands as the largest Missouri-owned distributor of premium spirits, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks, is giving away a total of 1,000 free rides to partiers in Missouri on New Year's Eve. The offer is available in Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia and, of course, St. Louis.

If you want to try to nab one of the 1,000 rides, check Major Brands' Facebook and Instagram pages on December 29 for a ride code. You can redeem the code for up to $30 ride credit for use between 4 p.m. on December 31 and 4 a.m. on January 1. You must use the Lyft app to redeem the code in the St. Louis area.

This effort is the work of Major Brand's social responsibility program, Safe Home After Every Occasion, and its supplier partner, Beam Suntory. The Safe Home program works to encourage responsible consumption and aims to make planning a ride before a night out a habit among consumers.

“By offering free rides on New Year’s Eve, Major Brands hopes everyone will make getting home safe and responsible consumption their 2018 New Year’s resolution,” Major Brands CEO Sue McCollum stated in a press release. “To date, through our social responsibility efforts we’ve provided more than 65,000 individuals a safe ride home.”
