Delicious Czech pastries are coming to St. Louis County's seat: St. Louis Kolache, the rapidly growing west county chain, hopes to open its third shop in Clayton.

Owner Russ Clark applied for a conditional use permit to open the shop at 21 N. Bemiston Avenue. The storefront, now vacant, is formerly the site of Clayton Gallery.

The city's planning commission will review the proposal at its September 18 meeting.

The 1,100-square-foot shop would include eight seats. Clark wrote in his application that he hopes to later add six seats of outdoor dining.

The shop would be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Clark opened his first shop at 1300 N. Lindbergh in Creve Coeur in 2015. A year later, he followed with one on Manchester Road in Ballwin.
