The Hogfather — a Gioia's classic — will now be available in downtown St. Louis
It may be April Fool's Day, but we're not cruel enough to fake you out on this one: Gioia's Deli really is opening downtown today.
The shop at 903 Pine Street is only the second outpost in the 98-year-old landmark's history. And shop owners Alex and Amanda Dolney promise a 2,000-square-foot store that will be much like the original, located in the city's Hill neighborhood: a walk-up counter, seating for 40, and even the not-so-secret "Secret Menu" (hint: It's on the website). The downtown iteration even has the same phone number — 314-776-9410.
The 98-year-old original in the Hill has been a frequent pick for awards, including our recent compilation of the city's ten best sandwich shops
The downtown restaurant opens today at 10:30 a.m. and will be open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
