One of St. Louis' newest breweries is opening its brand-new tasting room for the first time tonight.

Modern Brewery (5231 Manchester Avenue), which opened in July 2014 just a stone's throw from the campuses of Saint Louis University High and St. Louis Community College - Forest Park, plans to open the tasting room to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 10 p.m. On tap: a dozen beers, including, for this weekend, the American IPA, Citrapolis and the chocolate coffee stout Arkham’s Finest.

For the opening kickoff tonight, Modern Brewery will offer food from some local businesses, including Gioa's Deli Food Truck, Anthonino's, the Gramophone and Felix's Pizza. Going forward, however, the tasting room will be a drink-only affair — though wine will be available by the glass in addition to beer.

The tasting room may not be easy to find — we're told it sits adjacent to the brewing facility, "which is hidden in the back of a small strip near the intersection of Manchester and Macklind. Modern Brewery’s Chevy delivery vehicle is parked at the entrance on Manchester." So, look for that!

Co-owners Beemer Eisele and Ronnie Fink brew beer that's now offered in approximately 60 restaurants and bars across St. Louis. For more on Modern Brewery, see our story from 2014.
