We know what you're thinking: I really wish there were a restaurant dedicated to ranch dressing. Well, your prayers have been answered. Twisted Ranch (1730 South Eighth Street; 636-544-9802) is opening this summer in Soulard in the former Sassy Jac's space.
"It is a little different, a little quirky, out there," says co-owner Jim Hayden. "We're trying to put a different spin on it, our own twist -- a ranch twist on everything." He and business partner Chad Allen had been looking for a location for about six months when the Sassy Jac's space opened up.
The menu features ranch in every item in some process of cooking, whether it's a dipping sauce or ranch-seasoned flatbread crust. There are eighteen housemade varieties of ranch, and other menu items include prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella breaded with ranch-seasoned panko bread, Buffalo chicken dip with ranched corn chips, a chicken fajita ranch wrap (with ranched sour cream), ranched tuna salad and lots more. You can check out the full menu here.
There isn't much construction to be done, but cosmetic changes are going on now. Hayden says they're shooting for an early June opening.
"It's going to be creative twists to try to give people different options," Hayden says. "[We] focus on homemade -- nothing processed -- with a homemade taste to it, and focus on that really good customer service experience and make sure everyone enjoys the food."
