Despite (or perhaps because of) a spate of restaurant openings on Delmar Boulevard, the University City Qdoba (6625 Delmar Boulevard, University City) has closed. Employees were still answering the phone as of Tuesday, but they acknowledged that the branch was no longer in operation.
Lauren Peterson, Qdoba's public-relations and communications manager, confirmed the location closed Sunday, February 22. It was a company-owned location (not owned by a franchisee).
"We closed this location as our lease expired, and we chose to pursue another nearby location on Clayton Road that will open this spring," Peterson told us via email. That location will be company-owned as well. Peterson declined to release any additional details about the Clayton Road Qdoba.
County real estate records show that the building is owned by University Square Company LLC. We were unable to reach anyone from the company to comment on future tenants at 6625 Delmar Boulevard, which is flanked by Subway and Corner 17.
