We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Instagram was practically made for pictures of food. Gut Check has rounded up our favorite foodie accounts in St. Louis, but there are so many cool photos every week, we wanted to share what St. Louis' best chefs, bartenders and eaters are Instagramming. If you see a good one, send it to us!
1. Whiskey and Soba at KimCheese
If you love KimCheese, you'll be excited its adding a second location. If you've never been there, this should be motivation enough.
2. Jennifer Silverberg's pecan pie
Silverberg is a food photographer, so obviously her Instagrams are generally amazing. But this snap is just so perfect for fall. We're totally in the mood for cider and pumpkins now!
3. WeEatStuffSTL's fried green tomatoes at Tree House
Tired of summer tomatoes? (As if.) Still, tried the fried green kind. They're an especially good twist on a BLT, too.
4. Pumpkin butter croissants at La Patisserie Chouquette
Forget the already-annoying pumpkin-spice craze. Chouquette has yummy croissants that taste like fall, too, filled with spiced marscapone cream.
5. Gelato at Niche
That would be housemade Camembert gelato with St. James winery vignoles and roasted plum ribbon.
6. Persimmon picking
@MCharcuterie, a.k.a. Cindy Higgerson, found some beautiful persimmons in the wild.
7. Vincent Van Doughnut's cheesecake caramel butter cookie crumble
Doughnuts just keep getting more and more decadent, and we're not complaining.
8. Smoked andouille sausage at Juniper.
Chef John Perkins captioned this, "Smoked andouille nerds. Eat it up. You know where." We WILL, John. We will.
9. S'mores pie at Quincy Street Bistro
No comment needed.
10. Pint Size Bakery helps out for a Strange birthday
Strange Donuts cofounder Corey Smale is turning 30, and Pint Size Bakery has whipped up some special goodies just for the occasion. Another reason we love this one? The St. Louis food scene is full of camaraderie, across restaurants and disciplines.
