Fast casual restaurant Itacate Mexican Grill (3324 North Lindbergh Boulevard, Bridgeton) has closed after only a few months. The restaurant opened in July from some of the guys behind Guajillo Mexican Grill, which closed in April. Itacate had recently added a Mexican taco cart, but apparently that wasn't enough.
Owner Manuel Arreola-Valles told us back in July that Itacate would be better than say, Chipotle or Qdoba because it was actually Mexicans making Mexican food. "We're a very family-oriented business. We're making sure the customer's satisfied. We want to treat everyone like family. We love what we're doing," he said.
Arreola-Valles did not immediately respond to emails and calls for comment. The announcement was made on Facebook. Luckily, Itacate will still be available for catering; inquiries can be made through its website.
