Late-night gooey-cookie deliveries are a great business idea -- especially if you're on a college campus. The naming generally reflects that too. Mizzou's service is called Hot Box Cookies, and the newcomer Insomnia Cookies will open this fall in the Central West End.
The Loop had one a while back -- Dough to Door -- but it ended up closing. Although we would prefer some homegrown businesses, Insomnia is actually a chain that started on the East Coast in 2003. It's making its way west now, and this will be the first Missouri location for the chain.
Offerings include snickerdoodles, chocolate chunk, double chocolate mint, s'mores deluxe, brownies, frozen cookiewiches, plus mix-ins like Reeses cups, cookie dough and Snickers. You'll be able to order online, too, with deliveries to your door until 3 a.m.
It's unclear just where Insomnia Cookies will be located at this point, but hey, it's hiring if you are so inclined.
