The Market at the Cheshire (7036 Clayton Road) closed on Sunday, September 8, to make way for a Starbucks. The market served grab-and-go breakfast and lunch, but management apparently wanted to eliminate any overlap within the Cheshire operation.
As first reported by Sauce, the Market will re-open as a Starbucks in November. The Restaurant at the Cheshire began serving lunch earlier this year (check out our photos here), and the hotel's other restaurant, Basso, is popular with the night crowd.
The Market at the Cheshire's full menu will still be available, though, courtesy of chef Rex Hale at the Restaurant for dine-in or carry out orders. Although we wish there were an outpost of a local coffee shop going in, we can't deny anyone that morning Starbucks fix.
