Itacate Mexican Grill (3324 North Lindbergh Boulevard; 314-736-4516) is now open in Bridgeton, from the guys who brought you the late Guajillo Mexican Grill. As we reported in May, Itacate's focus is on fresh Mexican food, fast. But before you think Chipotle or Qdoba, think again.
"The difference is, we're actually Mexicans making Mexican food," co-owner Manuel Arreola-Valles tells us.
The name itacate is actually Spanish for "food to go." A large part of the restaurant is a catering business, and Arreola-Valles says Itacate does everything from corporate lunches to weddings. Expect staples like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and taco salad; you can see the full menu here.
"We're a very family-oriented business. We're making sure the customer's satisfied," Arreola-Valles says. "We want to treat everyone like family. We love what we're doing."
Itacate is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
