It's finally farmers' market season, and we can't wait to eat all that fresh, local produce every weekend. This year, the Libertine (7927 Forsyth Boulevard, Clayton; 314-862-2999) is making it even easier to support local farmers. It's offering a CSA (community supported agriculture) program called Growing Season. The best part? You'll end up with Libertine-made goodies in your share, too.

"The idea really stemmed from all of us having a really great connection with our local farmers and watning to extend that back out in the community," general manager Victoria Mitchell tells us.
Once a week, CSA subscribers will get a grocery bag stuffed to the brim of all the in-season produce from farms that the Libertine uses in its own cooking. You'll also get housemade bread, pickles, preserves, kombucha or whatever else Galliano and company are making that week.
Choose from omnivore, vegetarian, vegan or paleo shares to fit those diets. You can order a half or whole subscription; full subscriptions start at $405, which is $45 a week. There are four "seasons" of the CSA in nine week sessions: April 15-June 10, June 17-August 12, August 19-October 14 and the holiday season, October 21-December 23,
The Libertine is sourcing meat, eggs and produce from local farms like Such and Such, Claverach, Double Star, Yellow Tree and more. Mitchell says she's been getting dozens of e-mails a day about joining, and there are only a few spots left. There is a waiting list, though, so if someone cancels one week, they'll call someone on the waiting list. You can join the Libertine's CSA here.
