It was clear from our most recent "Most Underrated Sandwich Shop" poll that Gut Check readers are very opinionated when it comes to what makes a great sandwich. Well, now Majic Market Deli (640 West Woodbine Avenue, Kirkwood; 314-966-5056) is offering everyone the chance to put your money where your mouth is.

The Kirkwood favorite (and finalist in our recent poll) is holding its first-ever sandwich contest. Not sandwich eating, mind you, but sandwich making. Anyone can enter and create a delicious sandwich using the ingredients available at Majic Market. The grand prize is pretty sweet.

Owner Keith Willis will whittle down submissions to three finalists, then a panel of judges will crown a winner on November 22 at Majic Market. We're particularly excited for this part as Willis kindly invited Gut Check to serve as one of the judges. We do not take this responsibility lightly.

You can get the entry form on the next page, along with the list of ingredients -- submit it by November 15 to be considered. The first place winner gets $100 and a spot for their sandwich on Majic Market's menu. Second place is a $35 Majic Market gift certificate, and third place is a $15 gift certificate.
