Since it arrived on the scene seven years ago, Bar Louie (14 Maryland Plaza; 314-678-3385) in the Central West End has become the preferred after-work destination for lots of thirsty professionals.

"We hoped it would [be a success]," recalls marketing coordinator Lindsey LeHeup, "but we're happily surprised that the community is so taken with Bar Louie...The fact that we have two St. Louis locations is really a testament to that."

To celebrate its seventh birthday, Louie is throwing a two-day-long party with killer deals on burgers and drinks. It's the perfect way to kick off the weekend without dropping a ton of coin.

From 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. today and tomorrow (September 26 and 27), Louie is serving $1 burgers, $2 martinis and $2 drafts. LeHeup tells Gut Check it did a similar rock-bottom deal for its grand opening seven years ago, but hasn't done anything exactly like it since.
