Shakepeare's Pizza (225 South Ninth Street, Columbia; 573-449-2454) will be at the Soulard Farmer's Market (730 Carroll Street; 314-622-4180) starting this weekend. The booth will be selling Shakespeare's frozen pizzas as well as t-shirts and some other merchandise.
There will also be samples of the pizza, but unfortunately, Shakepeare's Kurt Mirtsching tells Gut Check that there won't be an actual restaurant with pizza by the slice or anything like that. The pizza place is a required stop in Columbia for many Mizzou alums, but there don't seem to be any plans for a St. Louis expansion.
For now, you can order frozen pizzas online from its website or get them at several area Schnucks locations. But, you may want to stop by the farmers' market just to get a sample of that hot, cheesy pie. Shakespeare's will be at stand 118 at the Soulard Farmers' Market, which is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
