Llywelyn's (17 Moody Avenue; 314-692-1515) annual beer dinner will be held Thursday, August 1, right in the middle of STL Craft Beer Week. Sure, you'll get some great beers (nine, to be exact), but Llywelyn's has also created food pairings that aren't normally on the menu -- hello, toasted ravioli!
The meal is split up into three dinners based around three regions: California, Colorado and, of course, St. Louis. Guests will eat three courses for each region, and each course is paired with a four-ounce beer. "California and Colorado have some fun food that we could bring to our pub and make and have fun with it. They have some great breweries with beers that we've enjoyed in the past," says marketing director Jessica Baker.
One of the St. Louis food picks is a gooey butter cake from none other than Gooey Louie. "This is the first time we've ever done gooey butter cake," Baker says. CulinarydDirector Greg Marshall has been working on the menu for the last three weeks to get it perfect. "We've never done anything quite like this," Baker says. "We're really excited about it!"
Tickets are $50 and there are only a handful left -- snag one here. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. at Llywelyn's in Webster Groves.
