We already told you that blackberries and blueberries were ready a few weeks ago, but the second wave of pick-your-own peaches are ripe starting this Saturday at Eckert's (951 S. Green Mount Road, Belleville, Illinois; 618-233-0513).
It's a sweet (and healthy) summer snack. Eckert's says they've got all-natural peaches that weigh almost a pound. Pick-your-own peaches are 99 cents per pound. Blackberries are also available for picking from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. while supplies last. The orchard recommends putting peaches into a paper bag at room temperature for two to three days to let them ripen even more before eating or refrigerating.
Be sure to call Eckert's Harvest Hotline at 618-233-0513 before you go to get up-to-date information on what fruit is still available that day.
