Not quite one year after a fire destroyed the apartment building in which J. Gumbo's had opened its first St. Louis-area location, the fast-casual Cajun-Creole restaurant has returned with a new home downtown. J. Gumbo's debuted yesterday at 312 North Tenth Street. The restaurant's regular hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. Its phone number is 314-696-2500. The St. Louis location also has its own Facebook page.

J. Gumbo's now boasts locations in ten states, including Missouri. That's up from six states when Gut Check first learned a year ago about the chain's imminent arrival in St. Louis. The J. Gumbo's menu mixes classic Cajun and Creole dishes (gumbo, jambalaya, po' boys) with such contemporary trends as wraps.
