Does St. Louis need another pizza joint?
That's merely a rhetorical question, you understand.
Jet's Pizza is now open at 14940 Manchester Road in Ballwin. This is the first Missouri location for a chain that brothers Eugene and John Jetts founded in Sterling Heights, Michigan, in 1978.
The chain now boasts over 200 locations nationwide.
Jet's signature pizza -- according to the company, at least -- is a square-shaped, deep-dish pie. The restaurant's pizza menu also includes a more traditional American thin crust, a New York-style thin crust and a very thin crust, cut into squares, that I probably don't need to explain to you, dear readers.
Jet's also serves sub sandwiches as well as what it calls "Boats," pizza dough stuffed with various assortments of deli meats.
The Ballwin location of Jet's is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Call 636-220-8929 for more info.
